Activated Carbon Tank (alias: Activated Carbon Adsorption Tank/Activated Carbon Tower) - a waste gas treatment device based on activated carbon's physical adsorption, mainly removing industrial waste gas components like VOCs, toxic/harmful gases and odors. Widely used in environmental protection, it is key for enterprises to meet waste gas discharge standards and improve workplaces.

  1. Gas Uniform Distribution: Pollutant-containing waste gas (e.g., spray painting waste gas, printing waste gas) is drawn into the activated carbon tank by a fan, and evenly distributed via internal devices such as flow deflectors and air distribution nets-preventing uneven adsorption caused by excessively high local gas concentration.
  2. Adsorption Filtration: When the waste gas passes through the activated carbon filling layer, VOCs (e.g., benzene, toluene, formaldehyde) and odorous molecules (e.g., hydrogen sulfide, ammonia) are "trapped" in the micro-pores of the activated carbon. The purified gas (with a pollutant removal rate typically 80%-95%) is discharged from the top of the tank.
  3. Regeneration/Replacement: As usage time increases, the micro-pores of the activated carbon are gradually filled with pollutants, leading to decreased adsorption capacity (evidenced by higher pollutant concentration in the discharged gas and increased resistance). At this point, thermal regeneration (heating to 80-120°C to desorb pollutants for activated carbon reuse) or direct replacement (commonly used for small and medium-sized equipment) is required to restore purification capacity.

  1. Easy Operation: No complex control system is required-only regular checks on the activated carbon status are needed. Small and medium-sized equipment can be maintained manually.
  2. Controllable Cost: The initial equipment investment is low; activated carbon can be reused after regeneration (reducing consumable costs), and the only energy consumption during operation is for the fan.
  3. No Secondary Pollution: Adsorbed pollutants can be recovered through regeneration (e.g., acetone in solvent waste gas can be recycled for reuse), and the purified gas is discharged up to standard.

Avoid High Temperature & Humidity: The adsorption capacity of activated carbon decreases when the temperature exceeds 40°C, and it is prone to moisture absorption and caking when humidity exceeds 80%. Preheaters and dehumidification equipment should be used (especially in humid southern regions).

Inapplicable to High-Concentration Waste Gas: If the VOCs concentration in the waste gas exceeds 2000mg/m³, the adsorption cycle of activated carbon is short (replacement may be needed every 1-2 days).
