    • Its application scenarios are very extensive, including industrial combustion equipment such as boilers and heating furnaces, and it is especially suitable for igniting difficult-to-burn fuels like heavy oil and pulverized coal; waste gas treatment systems, such as the start-up ignition and stable combustion of torches and RTO; gas-fired equipment, such as the ignition of natural gas engines and biogas burners; as well as ignition needs in special occasions such as aero-engine tests and high-altitude, low-pressure environments.
       
 

How it works

High-Energy Igniter Device, Used for Igniting Industrial Gas Appliances
. Igniter Host
It has a built-in high-voltage generator, energy storage capacitor and control circuit. It converts the mains electricity (AC220V/380V) into high-voltage pulse energy (usually 10~30kV) to provide an energy source for ignition. Some portable models are powered by batteries to adapt to scenarios without mains electricity.
. Ignition Gun (Ignition Rod)
It is composed of a high-temperature resistant electrode (such as tungsten alloy) and an insulating sleeve (ceramic or quartz material), and is the terminal for energy release. The tip of the electrode breaks down the air through high voltage to generate an electric spark, which directly contacts the fuel to achieve ignition.
. Cable
A special high-voltage cable connecting the host and the ignition gun, which must have high voltage resistance (≥30kV), high temperature resistance (-40ºC~200ºC) and anti-aging properties to ensure stable energy transmission.
. Control Unit (Optional)
It includes a remote control button, an ignition time relay or an interface for docking with the PLC system, supporting automatic ignition (such as linkage with the combustion system) or manual triggering. Some models have an ignition success feedback function (detected by a flame sensor).

  • Energy storage process: The main unit converts alternating current into direct current through a rectifier circuit, charges the energy storage capacitor, and stores electrical energy (the energy is usually 5~50J, adjusted according to the model).
  • Energy release: When an ignition signal is triggered (manually or automatically), the capacitor discharges instantaneously through the high-voltage transformer, generating a high-intensity electric spark at the tip of the ignition gun electrode (the spark energy is >10mJ, far exceeding that of ordinary igniters), which breaks down the air to form an electric arc.

    • Installation position: The ignition gun must be aligned with the fuel injection area (such as the burner nozzle), with a distance usually of 5~20mm (to ensure sufficient contact between the spark and the fuel). At the same time, direct contact with high-temperature components should be avoided (cooling space needs to be reserved).
    • Wiring requirements: High-voltage cables must be laid separately, away from signal lines (to avoid electromagnetic interference), and the joints must be sealed (to prevent moisture and electric leakage).
    • Parameter setting: Adjust the ignition energy and frequency according to the fuel type (for example, low-calorific-value gas requires increasing the energy to more than 20J and using high-frequency continuous ignition).
    • Startup process: First, supply fuel (ensure the concentration is within the combustion range), then trigger the ignition signal. After successful ignition, turn off the igniter with a delay of 1~3 seconds (to prevent flameout).

  • Regular inspection: Clean the ignition gun electrode weekly (remove carbon deposits and oil stains to ensure spark intensity) and check whether the cable is damaged;
  • Performance test: Test the ignition energy monthly (with a special instrument) to ensure stable output (the capacitor or transformer must be replaced when the energy attenuation exceeds 20%);
  • Environmental protection: In dusty and corrosive environments, it is necessary to install a protective sleeve (such as a quartz tube) for the ignition gun, and the main unit needs regular ventilation and heat dissipation (to prevent overheating).
